Guild Thunderbird S-200 Burgundy Burst 1963
 
Rare 1963 Guild Thunderbird S-200 in its original translucent Burgundy Burst finish.
 
This early example features the distinctive “Bat Wing” headstock, original Guild humbuckers, and complete, fully functional original “Pat. Pend.” kickstand vibrato assembly. The Burgundy Burst finish, considerably less common than the Sunburst or Cherry finishes typically seen on this model, allows the mahogany grain to show through.
 
The guitar was professionally refretted and fitted with a new bone nut here at Montréal Guitar. It was then fully adjusted, inspected, and evaluated. The neck is stable, the neck angle is excellent, the truss rod functions properly, and the guitar plays exceptionally well.
 
Aside from the new bone nut and professional refret, the instrument remains 100% original. There are no headstock breaks, structural repairs, routing, or modifications under the pickguard. The electronics remain original and intact.
 
The guitar shows normal vintage wear for its age, including lacquer checking, edge wear, and areas of finish chipping.
 
The original grey/blue hard case with blue plush interior is included. It shows considerable wear and is in poor condition, but remains functional and the latches still operate properly.
