When the ES-150 returned in 1947, it came in a different form, making these early versions especially rare and collectible.

Featuring a carved top, this archtop guitar offers rich resonance and exceptional tonal clarity, a characteristic highly valued by jazz musicians.

  • Tonewoods: Solid spruce carved top and mahogany archtop body with Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, creating a warm, resonant tone that jazz aficionados love.
  • Neck & Fingerboard: Wide "C" profile mahogany neck, 9.5” radius, and 24.75” scale length with 19 narrow frets for smooth playability.
  • Electronics: Original Alnico transitional pickup for that classic vintage tone, with replaced volume and tone pots, and a non-original 1/4" jack.
  • Hardware: Reproduction Kluson tuners in original style, maintaining the vintage look and feel.
  • Bridge & Nut: Original rosewood bridge with a non-original bone nut, width 1 3/4”.

Condition & Modifications

In good aesthetic condition, this ES-150 has had tasteful repairs to enhance playability and longevity, including binding reinforcements and a re-glued lamination on the soundboard. Comes with a black hardshell case (non-original) for safe storage.

This Gibson ES-150 is more than an instrument; it’s a historical artifact from jazz’s golden age and the dawn of electric guitar evolution. Perfect for players and collectors who value both performance and provenance.
