1988 Gibson Les Paul Custom
This 1988 Gibson Les Paul Custom is an excellent example of late-1980s American production. Completely original aside from a professionally repaired headstock completed approximately 20 years ago, it remains an outstanding instrument both structurally and sonically.
The repair was reinforced with two hardwood splines and the neck was refinished in black at the time. The work is extremely solid and stable. All other components remain original, including the pickups, electronics, original frets with nibs, and the original Gibson "Chainsaw" case.
The guitar has received a complete professional setup at Montréal Guitar, including a full cleaning, professional buffing and a fresh set of D’Addario XSE1046 strings. The original frets still have excellent life remaining and the instrument delivers the sustain, tone and feel that players expect from a great Les Paul Custom of this era.
A rare opportunity to own a genuine 1980s American-made Les Paul Custom at a significantly lower price than an unrepaired example, without compromising tone, playability or reliability.
